Behind the Scenes at NBC10 Boston: A Day to Remember

Two Bi-County Collaborative students recently had the exciting opportunity to step into the world of television at NBC10 Boston. Their visit gave them a firsthand look at the fast-paced and creative environment that brings news and entertainment to viewers every day.

The highlight of the visit was watching a live taping of Hub Today, hosted by Kwani Lunis and Hannah Donnelly. The students not only observed the action but also sat in the same chairs where the television talent present on set—a true “front row” experience.

The adventure didn’t stop there. The students were treated to a full tour of the NBC10 facility, where they explored the studios, production areas, and behind-the-scenes spaces that keep the station running smoothly.

To cap off the day, they joined a panel discussion featuring six NBC10 professionals, ranging from interns to executive producers. Kwani and Hannah also joined the conversation, sharing their own career journeys. The panel spoke candidly about the diverse range of roles in the television industry, both on-camera and behind the scenes—and offered valuable advice and encouragement to the students.

This experience was not only engaging but also eye-opening. It highlighted the many career paths available in media and broadcasting, sparking new curiosity about the creative and technical work that goes into television production.

For our students, a day at NBC10 Boston wasn’t just a field trip—it was a chance to see their future career possibilities “on air.”
