Testimonials

“Transitioning into the Bi-County Collaborative was a huge turning point in my life. After an extremely tough few years, I was very lucky to find the Finberg High School Program. Not only did they provide me with never ending support; they also gave me abundant room to grow. The endless opportunities and guidance exceeded all my expectations. The best part about my time with Bi-County Collaborative was they saw potential that I never saw in myself and pushed me to become the person I am today. I never saw myself having a future and they showed me that I did, and a very bright one at that. Finberg was a major contributing factor to my success and I am so thankful for everything they did for me.”

“I have learned much in the areas of personal finance, job skills, independent living and have even found the career I would like to pursue.”

“I had no idea what I was going to do after high school before starting at Bi-County Collaborative’s Adult Transition Program. While in attendance, I have learned much in the areas of personal finance, job skills, independent living and have even found the career I would like to pursue. The staff members are approachable, very helpful, and listen to concerns; all in an effort to help each participant find their path in life.”

“BICO has been more than a school for me; it’s been a family. For the four years I’ve been part of this program, not a day has gone by where I didn’t appreciate all the things it’s done for me. Besides the normal academic work, I was taught organization, study skills, and interview tips in order to prepare me for life. The sentiment has been echoed by my peers as well. I am proud to have been at BICO.”

“My son was transferred into the Bi-County Collaborative program due to severe behavioral issues while attending our local school system. He was difficult to control, both at school and at home.

Now, after several years at Bi-County, his behavior issues have decreased, and his academic achievements are incredible. Never did I let myself imagine that he would be able to write his name, do simple math and reading, much less learn geography and current events. He has even made friendships that will continue after he graduates from Bi-County. And now, the program is helping my son learn the skills needed for the Community Based Day Service that he will join when he turns 22.

Of course, none of these achievements would be possible without the absolutely dedicated staff at Bi-County Collaborative. It’s a wonderful atmosphere, where everyone really cares about each child and provides enormous support for the parents (often on their own time). Without any exceptions, they are patient, kind, and understanding of each student’s limitations. The focus is always on the positive, never on the negative.

It will be a sad day, indeed, when my son graduates from Bi-County!”

“Now, after several years at Bi-County, my son’s behavior issues have decreased, and his academic achievements are incredible.”

“We have complete faith in Bi-County’s dedicated staff, their ability to understand our child’s needs, and their unwavering commitment to his growth and progress.”

“Our son transferred to Bi-County Collaborative three years ago, after it became clear that our regular school was no longer able to meet his needs.  His outbursts and negative behavior were increasing and as a result he was being separated from the class for significant portions of the day. We visited and interviewed several schools looking for the right fit, we selected Bi-County primarily on the degree of confidence the lead teacher instilled in us.

Once at Bi-County the change was immediate; negative behaviors and outbursts dramatically decreased (before the evaluation period even was complete!) What made us even happier was that Bi-County Collaborative is never satisfied with the status quo, as soon as effective behavioral strategies were in place they started to increase academic demands.

We have since grown to have complete faith in Bi-County’s dedicated, experienced and hardworking staff, their ability to understand our child’s needs and challenges and their unwavering commitment to his growth and progress. Another thing that really impressed us was that several times we were invited to participate in BICO’s in-house clinical meetings, we met with the entire academic, clinical and Medical team to discuss our Son’s progress, they even went so far as to conference in our own Doctor to discuss options and strategies!”
